THE HEPTONES TOP 40

THE HEPTONES TOP 40 SONGS

With the recent passing, (11/23/11), of Barrington Llewellyn (a founding member of this legendary group) I was asked about it’s outstanding body of work. While researching, I found that Barry did quite a few lead locals – more than I was led to believe. Obviously, the group’s heydays were during its Clement Dodd’s Studio One era. However, its biggest hit “Book Of Rules” was post Studio One, and it was not the group’s customary lead singer Leroy Sibbles who sang lead, but Barry Llewellyn. In interviews I’ve had with Sibbles, he more than once expressed and recognized the irony of this fact. As usual, all efforts are made to record the most accurate titles, composers, dates, producers, etc.
