CUSTOMS DEPARTMENT FOUND AN AK-47 AND A HAND GUN, IN BARREL FROM THE UNITED STATES!

The Customs Department says an AK-47 Rifle and a Smith and Wesson revolver as well 51 rounds of ammunition and three magazines were today discovered at the Port Handlers Warehouse in Montego Bay, St James. 

Customs Officers assigned to that station uncovered the weapons during the routine examination of a shipment consisting of two barrels, a crate and a ladder which arrived onboard the Seaboard Intrepid on April 17.

The shipment was sent from a United States address with the firearms hidden in a false compartment of the crate.

The Customs Department says the weapons were handed over to detectives of the Montego Bay Criminal Investigation Bureau who have arrested one person in connection with the seizure.
