“BUSY SIGNAL LIVED IN FEAR OF GOING THROUGH AIRPORTS” SAYS FRIEND!

In the wake of reggae/dancehall artist Busy Signal’s arrest on drugs and conspiracy charges and an extradition warrant to the United States in place, reports are surfacing that the artist  “had a fear of going through airports”.

A friend of the artist reflected on times spent with Busy on tour to Europe and noted that it was strange how he would always “shut down” at the airport.

“No matter how jovial he was on the flight, once the plane  landed and we started walking to immigration he would just shut down,: Busy Signal’s friend told chatychaty.com.

“I knew some stuff, but we never knew the details of his former life or that he wasn’t using his real name. I know that he had some deejay name before. Some Hype something, but that was never really important. His past was his past and we were not focusing on that; we were Busy Signal,” the source said.

In response to whether or not Busy was prepared financially for this eventuality, he declared, “Busy mean you know. He invested his money wisely, so he has assets — houses, bus on the road and other things. So he should be good.”

Busy, whose real name is Glendale Goshia Gordon, but who has been going by the name Reanno Devon Gordon, was held in London on Friday on suspicion that he was travelling on false documents Busy Signal had performed in  Europe namely Amsterdam and Paris last week, but cut short his tour after he apparently learned of the fact that an extradition warrant was issued for him by the United States Government.

However, when he got to England he was refused entry into that country and detained by British Immigration officials.

The Americans have accused Gordon, who was a resident alien, of fleeing that country in 2002 before he could be sentenced on a cocaine charge in October 2002.

Speculation is that Busy Signal got bail in March 2002, and is suspected of removing an ankle bracelet — used as a tracking device by US authorities to ascertain the whereabouts of a suspect on bail — and fleeing to Jamaica.

Police on Monday said the artist has been under surveillance for several years.

He has been travelling extensively but has steered clear of the US, although he had been granted work permits for Canada.
