EASY STAR ALL-STARS ANNOUNCED MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE ALBUM!

Reggae collective the Easy Star All-Stars have announced the release of a new Michael Jackson tribute album, titled Thrillah, which comes out on August 28 via Easy Star Records. Following 2003’s Dub Side of the Moon, 2006’s Radiodread and 2009’s Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band, comes the band’s reggae adaptation of the greatest selling record of all time, Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Coinciding with what would have been Jackson’s 53rd birthday, the album features a number of musicians featured on past Easy Star albums including vocalists Michael Rose (Black Uhuru), Steel Pulse, Luciano, Mojo Morgan (Morgan Heritage), along with players Yossi Fine (David Bowie, Lou Reed, Stanley Jordan), Joe Tomino (Dub Trio/Matisyahu), Andy Farag (Umphrey’s McGee), and horns by Isreal’s Hadag Nachash.

The album will be preceded by the July 10 digital release of theBillie Jean EP, which includes two album tracks, along with non-album remixes and a dub version. You can download the group’s reworking of “Billie Jean” for free via their website.

In support of the new album, the Easy Star All-Stars will hit the road for a series of dates in September and October. Check out the full tour schedule below.
