WESTERN BUREAU:

By the end of the year, persons leaving Jamaica will no longer be required to go through immigration lines.

President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourist Association (CHTA), Josef Fortsmayr, revealed this information at the joint CHTA Tourism Summit and the Tourism Outlook Seminar now on at the Ritz Carlton Rose Hall in Montego Bay.

Outgoing immigration has been a major issue, particularly among tourism stakeholders who have complained about the long lines especially during peak hours on the weekends.

“Now that we have sorted out that problem, we now need to make arriving into the island easier,” said Fortsmayr.
