INTRODUCING ADVOKET: LAWYER BY DAY BUT SINGER BY NIGHT!

Advoket

Kingston, Jamaica—–

Born in the annals of Kingston City, Jamaica, Advoket was Christened Charles Gangasingh, and from an early age he was smitten by music.
Raised in the inner city community of Allman Town, Kingston 4, he was inspired by the musical influences that where embedded in his hometown. Michigan and Smiley, Eek-A- Mouse, Tyrone Taylor and the legendary Sagittarius band are a few who waltzed through his life and home.
After a strong education at both St. Georges and Wolmers high school, he moved on to the University of the West Indies where he pursued a law degree, but still kept his passion for music alive, through writing and impromptu Jam sessions with his musical colleagues.
Now after a decade as an established legal advocate representing the likes of Shabba Ranks, Sanchez, Snow, and Rik Rok, he has decided to put his best foot forward and is now a musical ADVOKET.
His first single “Baby Come My Way” was debuted in January 2009, and the self produced single received warm response on local radio. A collab version featuring Jamaican song bird Kris Kelly, broke the mould for the aspiring artist and attracted listening ears and consistent Radio play in regions such as St. Kitts, St. Vincent, and as far away as Vanuatu islands in the far east.
His second single “Beat Of My Soul” was produced by the dynamic underground production Duo of Willy n Slim and recorded at the renowned AppleTreeStudios in Kingston Jamaica.
The live instrument backdrop created for the track featured some of the most talented musicians Jamaica’s live music scene has to offer. Ini & Ika of the From The Deep Band, Jason Worton, Mbala, and Luke of Dubtonic Band all added slices of their musical magic to this awesome single.
The video is also slated for release in early 2010, was directed by the renowned Mykal Cushine, and co-produced by Willy N Slim Entertainment.
His latest single, “After Tonight” is doing well in various regions of the United States, and has entered the New York Top 30 Reggae Chart.
Advoket has joined a selected group of professionals like Lorna Bennett, and Hugo Barrington, who are licensed and practicing lawyers who still maintain their presence in the entertainment industry.
