DETROIT, USA (AP) —

Prominent Motown studio musician and Funk Brothers member Bob Babbitt (born Robert Kreinar) died yesterday. He was 74. He had brain cancer.

Babbitt and the Funk Brothers provided a rhythmically and melodically rich background for many Motown hits.
