BIRMINGHAM, England:
Members of Jamaica’s Olympic team including triple Olympic champion and world record holder Usain Bolt, created quite a buzz in Birmingham City Centre moments ago, after they arrived for a specially-organised screening of the just-released film ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Rises’.

The movie is being showed at the Cineworld Cinemas, along the city’s vibrant Broad Street.

Under heavy security, Bolt, and his team-mates were whisked from the team bus to the cinema by security personnel, who had arrived on the scene earlier to sweep the theatre and set up perimeters, as surprised movie goers clamoured to get a glimpse of track and field’s poster-boy.

Also attending the movie are 2008 Beijing Olympics 100m silver medalist Kerron Stewart, Warren Weir, Dorian Scott, Leford Green, Jason Morgan, Maurice Smith, Jermaine Gonzales, Josef Robertson, Traves Smikle, Schillonie Calvert, Latoya Greaves and Dane Hyatt, along with members of the team management, were among the Jamaican movie-goers.

This morning several of the Jamaican athletes attending a church service along with Team USA.

However, Bolt, Yohan Blake and Veronica Campbell-Brown were among the ‘big name’ athletes who did not attend.

The Jamaican Olympic track and field team is based at the University of Birmingham, where they are fine-tuning for the Olympic Games which starts in London on July 27.
