ROOTS SINGER BUSHMAN, WORKING ON “CONQUERING LION” HIS NEXT ALBUM!

By Cecelia Campbell-Livingston—–

ROOTS singer Bushman released his latest song Somewhere in May as a statement for Child Month, but says its powerful message transcends a sole event.

“It speaks of a future for the kids and also appeals to the world,” he told Splash. “It’s a day to day inspiration for people who are trying to make ends meet.”

BUSHMAN… album expected to be released on October 19, reggae star Peter Tosh’s birthday

Somewhere is one of the songs from Conquering Lion, Bushman’s next album which he is currently recording. He says the set is expected to be released on October 19, reggae star Peter Tosh’s birthday.

Other featured tracks on the album will be Mi Mean It (featuring Capleton), World State and Clutch Back.

Bushman said Conquering Lion will be his most diverse work to date.

“The album will be a blend of the different moods of reggae: dancehall, roots, and world beat,” he said.

His last album, 2011’s Bushman Sings the Bush Doctor, was a tribute to Tosh.

The St Thomas-born Bushman broke through in 1997 with the Steely and Clevie-produced Remember The Days. Fifteen years later, he says he is more versed in the intricacies of the music business and is encouraging fellow artistes to follow suit.

“A lot of us come into the music not being educated. There are a lot of materials out there not properly copyrighted to earn from it,” he said.
