KINGSTON, Jamaica —

The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) has confirmed that former Prime Minister and party leader, Bruce Golding, has left the island for treatment in the US.

In a release today, Opposition spokesman for information Senator Arthur Williams said that Golding departed the island to have further medical attention on a back problem.

According to the JLP spokesman the public will be further informed on Golding’s status.
