JAMAICA’S GAS STATIONS WILL STOP TAKING VISA AND MASTERCARDS, COME OCTOBER 1!

KINGSTON, Jamaica— –

The Jamaica Gasoline Retailers Association (JGRA) has recommended that all member service stations discontinue the acceptance of Mastercard and Visa credit cards for fuel transactions

According to JGRA president Trevor Heaven, financial institutions are charging “unacceptable” processing fees for the use of these cards

Heaven said that as of October 1, only debit cards and cash will be accepted for the purchase of fuel at service stations.
