“THE RETURN” OF MORGAN HERITAGE!

By Cecelia Campbell-Livingston—

AFTER a five-year break, Morgan Heritage is back with a four-track EP appropriately titled The Return.

The Shane Brown-produced project hit the streets on Tuesday and comes on the heels of a European tour by the group.

The Return, Stand Up, Girl Is Mine and Have No Fear (Nyahbing remix) are the songs on the mini-set, which is distributed by VP Records.

According to keyboardist/vocalist Roy ‘Gramps’ Morgan, he and his siblings have been doing more than recording.

“We have been doing shows in new markets, which was the plan. The band just completed a huge European tour where most shows were sold-out,” he said.

Morgan Heritage rose up the dancehall/reggae ranks on the popularity of albums like Don’t Haffi Dread to be Rasta, and chart-riding songs including She’s Been Loving Me and Down by the River.

Five years ago, members announced they would take time off for solo projects.

On December 29, Morgan Heritage comes closer to home with a performance in Suriname. Other Caribbean dates are in the works.
