DISNEY CRUISE LINE IS FINALLY GOING TO JAMAICA!

By Janet Silvera—-
Disney Cruise Line has finally confirmed that its ships will visit Jamaica for the first time in late 2013.

Disney, whose officials were here scouting the ports some four months ago, will depart from Galveston, Texas with new itineraries.

The seven-night Western Caribbean sailing itinerary will see the mega liner calling on the historic Falmouth Pier in Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, Mexico.

“While in Falmouth, one of the Caribbean’s best-preserved Georgian towns, guests can sample the city’s history and culture, take a trip through time on a horse-and-buggy ride, shop for arts and crafts and taste Jamaica’s signature jerk recipes,” said a media release from the cruise line.

In addition Disney is trying to woo cruise ship passengers with the idea of rafting on the Martha Brae River, while viewing the island’s lush tropical scenery.

Targeted passengers are also being enticed with trips to the Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios.

Disney will also in late 2013 sail seven-night Bahamas cruises from Galveston, calling on Key West, Florida, Nassau and its own private island, Castaway Cay.

Disney Cruise Line is operated out of Celebration, in Osceola County.
