PROTOJE SUPPORTS THE MUSIC INDUSTRY BY LAUNCHING “LIVE FROM KINGSTON!”

Protoje—

The live music scene has been steadily accelerating for the last three years and now it is shifting into new gear.

With an unprecedented number of new acts joining the ranks of a once small group of outliers, the local industry is beginning to pay attention.

Many insiders are now referring to the movement as the revival, and one event is being designed specifically to showcase this new crop of artists with real potential to penetrate international markets.

‘Live From Kingston’ is a series of live events set to begin on Saturday.

According to recording artist Protoje, one of the principals behind the I&I Worldwide outfit promoting the series, Live From Kingston is not a simple one-off event but can more accurately be described as a new engine for the revival.

“There will be a very deliberate fusion of the arts. So apart from witnessing these very talented musicians in action, you will have a chance to view and buy art, fashion, books, whatever, all created by gifted Jamaicans,” said Protoje.

Expressions

“It’s all about exposing the energy in all its expressions to people who might not yet be aware of it.”

The first group of artiste slated to perform includes Chronixx, Iba Mahr, Keida and Blu Kid.

Live From Kingston is a pop-up event, which means that it can happen anywhere, anytime. The November 17 instalment will have no cover charge and will be held at Base Kingston & Belle, located at Shop #11, Upper Manor Park Plaza, Kingston 8.
