REGGAE IN AFRICA: CAPLETON HEADING BACK TO ZIMBABWE!

Capleton

Jamaican reggae-dancehall artist Capleton who is affectionately known as King Shango by his legions of fans is expected to return to Zimbabwe for a reggae-dancehall gig at City Sports Centre on December 7. Red Rose Entertainment’s boss, Barbra Chikosi, who is the promoter of the show confirmed Shango’s visit.

Capleton will be performing along side local reggae/dancehall artists who include Guspy Warrior, Lady Bee, Lady Squanda, Freeman, Winky D and Sniper Storm.

After performing in Zimbabwe Shango will fly together with Freeman to South Africa for a event dubbed Cape Town International Reggae Fest that is slated for December 8 and 9.

This will be Shango’s second visit to Zimbabwe following his debut performance in 2010 when he performed at Glamis Arena on New Year’s Eve and Aquatic Complex the following day. Shango then later performed at Red Fox for his farewell party.

Africa has become a cherished place for many Jamaicans as witnessed by their frequent visit of the continent.

Zimbabwe has in the past played host to other big Jamaican names in the music sector that include TOK, Beenie Man, Saun Paul, Agent Sasco, Mavado and Sizzla among others.
