FORMER JAMAICAN PRIME MINISTER, EWARD SEAGA, VISITS MIAMI TO PROMOTE REGGAE GOLDEN JUBILEE ALBUM!

MIRAMAR –

As 2012 marks Jamaica’s 50th year of independence, VP Records offers arguably one of the most historical and genre-comprehensive box sets to commemorate the occasion. The 4-disc selection was curated by former Jamaican Prime Minister (1980-1989) Edward Seaga, who also played a major role in the development of the Jamaican music industry during the 1960s ska movement.

Reggae Golden Jubilee – Origins of Jamaican Music is available now on VP Records and will only be sold at retail stores.

The collection features deluxe packaging resembling hardcover book, extensive liner notes and 100 of the island’s most celebrated hits from Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, Yellowman, Shaggy, Buju Banton, Sean Paul and many more.

From November 29th until December 2nd, VP Records is hosting a variety of events in the Miami area with former Jamaican Prime Minister Edward Seaga to celebrate the launch of this epic collection.

Hon. Edward Seaga

On Thursday, Nov. 29th, Edward Seaga will attend a press conference from 5pm to 5:45pm regarding this release at the Courtyard Atrium at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, followed by a Music Symposium Hosted by Howard ‘Flagga’ Duperly from WDNA Radio where Seaga will delve into a discussion about Jamaica’s musical legacy and his unique role in the industry, along with invited guest speakers such as Reggae artists Etana, Morgan Heritage, Derrick Morgan, Pluto and others. This open forum takes place at Nova Southeastern University in the Knight’s Auditorium @ H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship from 6pm to 8pm.

On Saturday Dec. 1st, from 4pm-6pm, he will meet and greet fans while signing copies of the box set at VP Records retail store (6022 SW 21st Street) in Miramar, FL. This visit follows his two-day whirlwind promotional tour around New York City in late October.
