International recording artist Jah Cure has a busy week ahead, as he launches his World Cry album and prepares to do two performances on two continents.

The singer confirmed to The Gleaner that the much-anticipated album will be available on iTunes today.

“It was highly overdue. We had whole heap of setbacks but it’s finally going to be released now and trust me, I put in a lot of hard work in this album. I never really released a lot of singles in 2012 cause I didn’t want to cheapen my album by flooding the market with singles so, fans can look out for World Cry on iTunes now,” he said.

Jah Cure, who also doubled as producer on the album, emphasised that this is one of his greatest works to date.

“This is one of the biggest albums released from a Jamaican artist. This is the hardest I’ve worked on an album cause I always want my work to be better than the last and I always want it to be top-notch.”

The 15-track album also features collaborations with international superstars Jasmine Sullivan, Rick Ross and Tupac. Jah Cure is the only Jamaican artist to be featured on an authentic Tupac track.

He added that he was looking for positive feedback from World Cry and that he had already finished working on the follow-up album.

“Because of the set back in the release date, I was already working on a new album so the first single from the new album, titled Across 110 Street will be released on July 28, 2013. Every year I will release something new on that date because that’s the day when I gained my freedom and it is a significant milestone in my life,” Jah Cure went on to say.

Show in Dubai

The reggae artist will also depart the island today for a performance in Dubai at the Hotel Atlantis. From Dubai, he will head to Kenya for a performance at their National Stadium on December 15.

“During my last trip to Kenya, I visited Kibera, the largest slum in Nairobi, and the second-largest urban slum in Africa. I’m going to be spending Christmas there and giving back to the kids because they really need the help, so I will livicate my time, energy and financial strength to help all those that I can.”

The World Cry singer recently released a video for his popular single That Girl, to rave reviews, feeding the heightened anticipation for the album’s release.
