THE SUPERJAM CONCERT SERIES RETURNS JANUARY 3!

SUPERJAM’S concert series returns on January 3, 2013 at PULS8’s Trafalgar Road, St Andrew headquarters, after a seven-year absence.

“Superjam has always been about getting the best of the best together on one stage at one time. We thought it was time to bring it back and get some of today’s top artists together for a show that reflected the best of what’s currently happening in Jamaican music,” said Kingsley Cooper, Pulse’s chairman.

The January 3 line-up features dancehall queen Lady Saw, Sizzla Kolonji, up-and-coming roots artist Chronnix, and Christopher Martin.

“Superjam 2013 is the best way to start the New Year. We have a strong line-up with some of the biggest names in the business and we’re confident this production will remind our seasoned patrons of our beginning and introduce Superjam to a whole new generation,” said Cooper.

Superjam, which began as Reggae Superjam in 1982, has featured heavyweights of Jamaica’s music scene. They include Dennis Brown, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, The Skatalites, Third World, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Shaggy, Sean Paul, Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, Damian Marley, Beenie Man, and Beres Hammond.

Reggae star Peter Tosh graced the Superjam stage in 1983, the same year he released his Mama Africa album. Tosh was killed at his St Andrew home in 1987.
