REGGAE SUPERSTAR SHAGGY, BRINGS JOY TO THE BUSTAMANTE HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN IN KINGSTON!

DIAMOND-SELLING recording artist Orville ‘Shaggy’ Burrell brought Christmas cheer to patients at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in St Andrew yesterday.

Some children jumped in excitement, others sat up in their cribs, while parents looked on in deep appreciation as the reggae artiste and his team walked through the hospital’s wards bearing gifts.

Doctors who were on hand expressed their gratitude to the entertainer.

“We look forward every year to Shaggy coming. It always brightens their [the children’s] day. They also look forward to the concert after the treat,” said Dr Toni-Anne Fulford.

The Shaggy and Friends children’s treat is now in its 10th year and the Mr Boomastic singer says he has no intention of stopping.

“It’s just a commitment as the problem doesn’t stop. As long as I can, I will continue doing it,” he said.

Shaggy has had a long-standing relationship with the Bustamante Hospital for Children as his Shaggy and Friends fund-raiser has seen him donating millions to the institution.

Last year, the entertainer, through his Make a Difference Foundation, handed over equipment to the hospital, which was purchased with proceeds from the 2010 Shaggy and Friends Concert.
