VISA APPLICATIONS NOT MOVING OUT OF THE ISLAND, SAYS THE U.S. EMBASSY IN KINGSTON!

US Embassy Kingston

The United States (US) Embassy in Kingston has moved to assure concerned Jamaicans that it will continue processing visa applications in the island.

The announcement came yesterday as the embassy sought to address concerns raised about the decision of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to shut down its Kingston field office.

The USCIS field office in Santo Domingo will now have responsibilities for the services usually provided by the Kingston office.

The US Embassy explained that USCIS is the office that oversees all lawful immigration to the US.

It said all other sections of the US mission in Jamaica, including the Consular section that handles visa applications, will remain open.
