UPCOMING SINGER STORM, RELEASES HER DEBUT ALBUM “NOSTALGIA!”

A longing for the good old days of reggae music inspired singer Storm to name her debut album Nostalgia, which was released on January 1.

According to Storm, whose real name is Kelly- Ann Minto, lovers of authentic Jamaican music will relate to the album’s old school feel.

“It brings back the essence of the good old days of roots reggae music and it affords me the opportunity to pay homage to some of its icons who deserve great respect and honour,” Storm told Splash. “They have paved the way for artistes like me and their works, in my opinion, need more acknowledgement.”

Noted songs on the album include Real Jamaican Rock and Welcome Home featuring Michael Buckley. She has also worked with two veteran singers Edi Fitzroy (Princess Black Remix) and JC Lodge (Telephone Love Remix) on Nostalgia, as well as Michael Buckley and General Pecos.

She’s known for other songs like Daddy Where Were You, Mr Pedophile, Lioness and Me Gone.

Born in St Catherine, Storm says she developed a passion for music at an early age through her father, who owned the Touch of Class band.

In 2000, she migrated to the United States, settling in Maryland. After leaving Coppin State University, she recorded her first songs, Cellular and Got Your Back.

Signed to Kingston company Signature Records, which released Nostalgia, Storm is planning a promotional tour of the US and Europe.
