Dancehall entertainer Busy Signal, who was recently deported to the island, is to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court this afternoon.

He is to answer to the charge of obtaining passports with a false name.

It is alleged that the entertainer unlawfully obtained three Jamaican passports in the name Reanno Gordon, which he used to travel abroad as an entertainer.

Busy returned to Jamaica late last year, after serving six months in a United State prison for absconding bail.

The artist was arrested in Minnesota in 2002 on drug charges.

He was subsequently granted bail, but fled the US and returned to Jamaica shortly after.

Busy Signal was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport last May after returning from a European tour.

After one court appearance, he waived his right to an extradition hearing and agreed to go back to Minnesota to answer the charge of failing to appear in court.
