Reggae stars Bunny Wailer, Andrew Tosh and Sizzla will headline the annual Trench Town Rock concert.

The concert, held annually in recognition of outstanding musicians who hailed from that community, takes place on Saturday at Vin Lawrence Park, first Street, Trench Town, at 6 p.m.

The event, organised by Trench Town Festival committee in association with the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association and Jamaica Music Institute, is sponsored by Digicel, Jamaica Tourist Board, Starlight Productions, Phase 3 and Alternative Music.

Junior Lincoln, of the organising committee, is upbeat about the event asmusical greatness will be on display.

“Patrons will experience some real performances by the icon Bunny Wailer, and Andrew Tosh, international recording artistes who are seldom seen on the local stage,” he said.

Set to take the stage also are Sizzla, Bob Andy, Roots Underground, Chinno & Family, Junior Reid, Lutan Fyah, Cen’C Love, Nesbeth, and more.

“This year, the concept is being broadened to involve members of the original Wailers and their family who have become well-knownperformers in their own right,” explained Lincoln.

YOUNG ARTISTS

Traditionally, young, talented artistes making strides in their career have also added their brand of entertainment to the exciting mix of performances.

“There is a groundswell among the young artistes’ fraternity and, therefore, the line-up includes a list of very prominent artistes, especially some who have been nominated as Artiste of the Year,” said Lincoln

Sizzla

The event has grown since it began in 2000 and the organisers are promising that patrons will also experience upgraded technical facilities, including lights, stage and sound.

Admission at the gate is $500.
