CLIFTON BROWN OF “NOBODY CANNA CROSS IT” FAME, GETS BAIL AFTER BEING CHARGED FOR RAPING HIS WIFE!

CLIFTON ‘Cliff Twang’ Brown, who is popularly known for the very catchy slang “Nobody Canna Cross it”, was yesterday offered $250,000 bail after spending several weeks in custody on a charge of marital rape.

The Mavis Bank, St Andrew, resident — who is accused of raping his wife on two occasions despite a protection order she has against him — was offered bail by Magistrate Grace Henry-Mckenzie in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.

However, his bail was granted on condition that he reside with his relative at Cheapstow in Portland.

He was also ordered to report to Buff Bay Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and to surrender his travel documents with a stop order in place as part of his bailing condition.

Brown, who was dressed in a black blazer and jeans, had his usually wide smile on his face throughout the proceedings.

He was offered bail following several attempts by his lawyer, Paul Gentles, despite objection from the police who claimed that Brown was a “violent and aggressive man”.

Brown was taken into custody and charged for reportedly raping his wife twice. However, he has denied the allegation, claiming that he and his wife of five years had consensual sex.

Brown attained instant fame after a news item of him was made into a music video and posted on the Internet. In the video, Brown — in a heavy accent — complained about the lack of a bridge in his community following a flood that marooned the area in mid-2011.
