WAIVER PROBLEM FORCES ANTHONY B TO CANCEL SOUTH AMERICAN SHOWS!

ANTHONY B has cancelled upcoming South American shows because he is unable to secure a waiver that allows him to

travel outside of the United States.

The singjay is scheduled to appear in a Georgia court this month on ganja charges.

Anthony B (real name Keith Anthony Blair) and nine members of his band were arrested by state police on January 27 for a window tint violation along Interstate 75 in Houston County, Georgia.

Five ounces of ganja and US$7,900 were found in the vehicle. All were subsequently charged for possession of ganja with intent to distribute.

Anthony B was released after posting bond of US$1,000 for each charge.

In a statement, the deejay said, “It is unfortunate, but I have been in dialogue with the promoters and we have come to an amicable arrangement where I will do the Jamming Festival in Colombia next year, as well as the United Festival in Venezuela. I have done a video apologising to the reggae fans in South America for my unavoidable absence.”

He had been scheduled to perform at the Jamming Festival last Friday, and the United Festival on June 2.

According to the statement, Anthony B will honour his European and North American commitments in July and August.

Anthony B emerged during the roots-reggae revival of the 1990s. Along with singer Everton Blender, he put Startrail Records on the map with songs like the controversial Fire Pon Rome and Raid The Barn.

Relentless touring has earned him faithful fans throughout Europe, Latin America and the United States.

In late 2012, he cancelled several US and European dates due to exhaustion.
