“I FOCUS ON WHAT IS RIGHT” SAYS THE RASTAFARIAN ROOTED I-WAYNE!

By Simone Morgan—-

RASTAFARIAN reggae artist I-Wayne is never afraid to speak his mind. His latest single Crush Fi Dat which features Keke I is testament to that.

On the track, he lashes out against rape, poverty and other criminal activities.

I-WAYNE… I just focus on what is right

With his messages rooted in Rastafari, the singjay explains his purpose is to bring sanity and unity amidst the turmoil.

“I just focus on what is right. The music business is lacking unity,” the 32-year-old told Splash.

I-Wayne noted that while the industry was flourishing with creativity, there was still a lot of negativity being produced.

“The sounds are great and some of the artists have potiential. But they tend to dwell on a lot of negativity including swag, to drink and get drunk. When a man drunk, him liable to do anything such as rape our children and commit murder,” he said.

The singjay said he was pleased with the messages of the new generation of reggae acts like Chronixx and Kabaka Pyramid.

“I like their musical output. I definetly love the vibes and I hope that they don’t switch as there are others that started on that same path but diverted as they get caught up in the glitz and glamour of the music business,” he said.

I-Wayne, real name Cliffroy Taylor, emerged on the music scene over a decade. He released his debut album, Lava Ground, in 2005.

Three years later, he released Book of Life which reached number four on the reggae category of the Billboard chart.

He is best known for songs like Can’t Satisfy Her, Living in Love, and Need Her in I Arms.
