Reggae legend Max Romeo has put off plans to vanish into retirement following the release of his upcoming album after his children convinced him to keep on working. The 65-year-old musician is preparing to unleash For The Love Of Money next year (14), his first album since 2007’s Pocomania Songs. The Wet Dreams hitmaker initially wanted to record the album as a goodbye to his fans and title it The Last Hurrah, but his offspring convinced him he is too young to hang up his mic. Romeo tells Mojo magazine, “I had the concept of doing a set of cover tunes called The Last Hurrah, until the kids sit me down and say, ‘No, Dad, you’re still a young man. You’re not 70 yet, so I think you should continue.’

They choose another track, For The Love Of Money, to be the title, and changed the whole concept, so I withdraw the one I originally planned. They ended up giving a lot of concrete input in other ways too, like singing backup harmony on some of the tracks.”
