REGGAE RADIO JOCK NATTY B TO LEAVE LONDON’S CHOICE FM!

Natty B

Natty B has confirmed that he is to leave Choice FM.

Reggae has always faced an uphill struggle to be heard. Almost by its very definition an outsider music, reggae has continually faced problems making an impact on mainstream British culture.

Earlier this year David Rodigan MBE left his post at KISS FM, leaving relatively few advocates for reggae in prominent positions. Now Choice FM mainstay Natty B has revealed that he is set to part company with the broadcaster.

In a series of Tweets the presenter wrote:

“It is with deep regret that last Sunday 29/09/2013 was my final show on Choice FM… This has come as an unexpected surprise.. ..as has the news that the station will be now known as Capital Extra & will no longer be Reggae programming.”

“I started at Choice FM in 2000 and enjoyed my time broadcasting the music that I love on (then) London’s only Black owned urban station… I would like to thank everyone that has been a part of my journey and hope to be back on the airwaves very soon. Peace!”

Artists, singers, producers and DJs offered their condolences on social media, with Serocee commenting: “blessings @nattyb sorry to hear that, stay strong dada”.
