Beres Hammond will be on show at the annual Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival.

The 2014 staging will once again illustrate the renowned, musical diversity of the show, with the recently announced line-up.

Jazz aficionados, reggae enthusiasts, R&B rockers and folk fans alike can all be excited about the festival scheduled to take place at the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium.

The 18th staging will see fans realising just exactly What One Dance Can Do, while they get the chance to Rock Away to the romantic lovers’ rock stylings of the legendary Hammond.

Hammond is world renowned as the ‘man with the golden larynx’ for his smooth lovers’ rock sound. With a career spanning over four decades, Hammond is respected for such classics as I’m In LovePutting Up Resistance and They Gonna Talk.

Hammond has long captured the hearts of fans with several hits from a famous catalogue that tells stories and illustrates emotions that are very relatable.

His latest album, One Love, One Life (2012) topped the BillboardReggae Albums chart.

In 2013, he was awarded the Order of Jamaica in recognition of his exceptional and dedicated contribution to the Jamaican music industry.

The 2014 staging, while presenting a legendary great like Beres, will also include remarkable offerings from the reggae revival movement.

Protoje, whose profound reggae lyrics resonate with youth both at home and abroad, will be representing the reggae revival with his comprehensive catalogue, impressive for a relatively new artist.

The revival, led by Protoje, has inspired the likes of Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid & Dre Island, creating a fresh sound.

With hits like DreadJARasta LoveWho Dem a Program andKingston Be Wise, Protoje has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Having previously performed with Ky-Mani Marley at the 2012 Jazz Festival, Protoje will now take solo billing and a rightful place on the main stage.

Set for January 30-February 1, the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival is a fusion of musical stylings featuring some of the world’s best performers.

The three-night event features something for every musical taste and is arguably the biggest music festival on the island.

In addition to the much-anticipated reggae acts, several international headliners have been announced for the 2014 festival, including legends Chaka Khan and Aaron Neville; country-pop icon Crystal Gayle; six-time Grammy winner Toni Braxton; the 2009 Best Urban/Alternative Performance Grammy awardee Chrisette Michele and R&B heart throb, Joe.
