CHRONIXX AND ETANA ARE CONFIRMED FOR NEW ZEALAND’S “RAGGAMUFFIN FESTIVAL” DECEMBER 13!

ETANA and Chronixx are the Jamaican acts confirmed for the eighth staging of the Raggamuffin Festival, to be held December 13 in Auckland, New Zealand.

British supergroup UB40, which has endured internal and legal conflict in the past decade, will headline the event along with gangsta rap pioneer Ice Cube.

For the first time, ‘Raggamuffin’ will have two stages — one for reggae, the other for rap.

UB40’s line-up is expected to include three of its original members: Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue.

Lead singer Campbell left the band several years ago due to differences with former colleagues.

“We asked our fans who they would like to have at Raggamuffin and we were overwhelmed by the requests for UB40. We’re very pleased to be able to bring this iconic reggae act back to the festival,” said promoter Andrew McManus.

After seven years in the Rotura region of New Zealand, the festival is headed for Auckland, which is home to the country’s largest reggae base. No venue has been named as yet.

Pacific reggae artist Fiji, London-based deejay Gappy Ranks and hometown band Katchafire are also on the bill.
