ROCK LEGEND MICK JAGGER MEETS CHRONIXX AT NEW YORK CITY’S SUMMERSTAGE CONCERT!

Jagger comes out for Chronixx—

Mick Jagger has rubbed shoulders with prime reggae talent in his time — Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, and now Chronixx.

The Rolling Stones frontman was in the audience for Saturday’s SummerStage concert at Central Park in New York City, which Chronixx headlined with veteran roots singer Junior Reid.

Jagger, who attended the show with three of his daughters, went backstage to meet the singer after the show.

The free event attracted over 5,000 fans according to Jesse Serwer, editor of the Largeup.com, a co-sponsor of SummerStage.

Serwer told the Jamaica Observer that Chronixx is the breath of fresh air for which reggae has waited for nearly a decade.

“He’s evidence that roots-reggae is alive and not trapped in a time warp. The last time the American mainstream paid any attention to a Jamaican artist was Damian Marley with Welcome to Jamrock,” Serwer said.

Chronixx performed at SummerStage four days after an appearance on the top-rated NBC programme, The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

SummerStage was a joint production between Largeup.com, the Okayplayer website (founded by Questlove, drummer of The Roots) Federation Sound sound system, and Central Park SummerStage.
