SINGER/SONGWRITER NESBETH HITS IT BIG WITH “OLE GANGA LEE!”

SINGER/songwriter Nesbeth is riding the charts with Ole Ganga Lee, which has renewed interest in the term made famous by deejay Louie Culture 22 years ago.

Nesbeth says the song was actually inspired by Louie Culture’s hit of the same name.

“The Louie Culture song is about standing up for what one believes so I incorporate that message in my song,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

According to Nesbeth, Ole Ganga Lee was recorded 18 months ago but recently released. On the heels of its success is the follow-up single, Taste Victory, released two weeks ago. Both songs are on his new label, Entertainment Soul, headed by New England-based producer, Shanika ‘Eccentrik’ Dobson.

Nesbeth believes the partnership is what he has been waiting for since starting in the business in 2003.

His first single was for Patrick Roberts’ Shocking Vibes label, a moderate hit titled So Let It Be (I Love Her, She Loves Me).

His career revved up in 2007, when he joined Stephen ‘Flava’ McGregor’s No Doubt label, and made his name with Board House.

He followed with Guns Out, which addressed violence in inner-city communities like Arnett Gardens and Maxfield Avenue, where he grew up. He left No Doubt two years later, because he felt McGregor was too busy with his growing number of artists, to focus on his career.

Nesbeth next joined the Jan Bigs label and had two successful songs in A Nuh Suh Mi Waan Live and Drive By.
