The date for the fourth installation of the International Reggae Wine Festival has been set.

The event is set for October 18 at the Whitter Village in Montego Bay and is geared towards persons who love the mix of good reggae music and fine wine. Carlos Daley, wine connoisseur and event organiser, dubs the combination a winning one, and encourages Jamaicans to come out to the event.

This year, the festival’s line-up will include the likes of Romain Virgo, Leroy Sibbles, Shuga and Tony Roy, singer from Maryland.

Daley, who is also the promoter of the Caribbean Food and Wine Festival, told The Sunday Gleaner that it takes the right approach to pull off a wine and food festival. “Jamaica has a viable wine market, but you have to have the right approach to get into it. There’s nothing better than sipping wine and listening to music,” he said. Wines from the world-famous Napa Valley in Northern California will be on show courtesy of American sommelier, Chris Joyce.

The first International Reggae Wine Festival was held in 2011 at the Rose Hall Aqueduct in Montego Bay. Last year, the Secrets Resorts and Spa played host to the one-of-a-kind event.
