AUSTRALIAN SINGER MISS TRACE, ROCKS WITH LEGENDARY SINGER/SONGWRITER B.B. SEATON!

Miss Trace rocks steady with B.B. Seaton–

AUSTRALIAN singer Miss Trace has found a new hero in rocksteady great B.B. Seaton.

Last month, while in London for Seaton’s 70th birthday party, she recorded three songs — Image of Love, Something For You and Stand By Me — with him.

The two first collaborated last November on the songs, World Needs Now and Born To Believe.

Miss Trace spoke of how she met Seaton, a prolific singer/songwriter who led harmony group, The Gaylads, during the 1960s.

“I met a gentleman online in 2009, Ras Obi, who is a Nigerian singer based in the UK. I fell in love with his tune Touch My Hand that had been recorded with BB Seaton,” she told the Sunday Observer.

Seaton and Miss Trace met last year in London where Seaton lives.

“I was recording in France with Fulgence Compaore from Burkina Faso, and went to meet Obi, who then introduced me to Mr BB Seaton. I expressed my genuine interest in the music to BB and was fortunate enough to be accepted as an artiste,” she told the Observer.

The St James-born Seaton is a giant of the rocksteady era. He is author of numerous hit songs including Hard to Confess, Lady With the Dress and My Jamaican Girl.

A vocal coach for the last 20 years, Miss Trace, 52, is from South Australia. A longtime reggae fan, she visited Jamaica in February and covered Dawn Penn’s hit song No No No at Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston.
