“It’s Christmas, Give a Little Love” is the theme for this year’s annual tree lighting ceremony by the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC).

The annual lighting ceremony and concert is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, at the recently renovated St. William Grant Park, downtown Kingston. The event will begin with the usual civic ceremony followed by a gospel concert.

Winner of Season 5 of NBC’s The Voice, Tessanne Chin, and Top 8 finalist in the current season of the American singing talent competition, Anita Antoinette, will be the special guest performers.

The concert, which is free to the public, will also feature appearances from various artistes and community talents such as Sandra Brooks, Lubert Levy, Omari, and the Tivoli Dance Troupe.

In an interview with JIS News, Town Clerk Robert Hill, said the tree lighting “symbolises hope for all residents of Kingston and St. Andrew, especially the less fortunate.”

“Our greatest responsibility as city leaders is one of care; caring for the environment, the elderly and our youths,” he added.

Mr. Hill said the theme for the event serves as a reminder “for us all to give a little love,” especially at Christmas time.

The KSAC is inviting all Corporate Area citizens to attend the tree lighting ceremony and concert which, he said, will be fit for the entire family. “It is at no cost to the public, and so (everyone) is invited to participate,” he said.
