DANCEHALL ARTIST PATEXX HOPES TO KEEP HIS FANS GLUED TO NEW SINGLES!

AFTER creating a buzz last year with Mi Alright, a collaboration with his mentor Bounty Killer, dancer-cum-deejay Patexx is anticipating individual success with his latest singles Ca Work and Wine and Look.

Both singles were released earlier this month.

Produced by Digital One Records, Ca Work is the deejay’s first one-drop reggae single.

“This one is different and it shows how much I have grown. It attacks serious issues in the nation. It is really a song directed to those persons in authority who are supposed to be helping the homeless and less fortunate. It’s just one of the many things that I observe…it pains my heart whenever I see the homeless youths,” he said.

Diverting his attention to the females, the Alliance Next Generation (ANG) artist is hoping to ride high with Wine and Look, a Hot Box Entertainment production.

“The females will have another one to gyrate their bodies to. This one will bring back dancing between man and woman in the dancehall again,” he said.

In his late 20s, Patexx — whose given name is Rohan Rankine — is a former student of Morant Bay High School in St Thomas.

He said he started his career by performing at school concerts. After releasing several singles, the deejay got his break with Summertime, a 2010 collab with Bounty Killer.

He is also known for other songs like Big Foot, Danger, Cook, Artist Peggy and Party Me Say, a collaboration with ZJ Liquid.
