BioTrackTHC, the leading provider of software tracking solutions for ganja businesses and state government regulators in the United States today launched its technology in Jamaica.
The launch of the technology took place at the University of Technology’s (UTech) Medical Marijuana Integration Day celebrations Thursday morning.
BioTrackTHC announced at the event that its partnerships will provide seed-to-sale medical ganja tracking technology and training at UTech and the University of the West Indies (UWI) at Mona.
The two tertiary institutions are growing medical ganja for research purposes, and are the only entities legally allowed to grow ganja locally, until business licences are approved.
“We are proud to be working with both of Jamaica’s institutions of higher learning to help bolster knowledge and infrastructure for the legal medical ganja industry in Jamaica,” said Patrick Vo, co-CEO, BioTrackTHC.
“Our goal is to provide a solution that is tailored to meet the specific needs and priorities of the Jamaican people and their new medical ganja industry,” he added.
BioTrackTHC’s tracking system has helped facilitate a reliable, compliant ganja industry in a growing number of U.S. states. This includes a version of the system implemented by state regulators, and a separate system for business customers.
Minister of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining, Philip Paulwell was the main speaker at this morning’s celebrations at UTech. The event was also highlighted by Paulwell’s presentation of the ganja research licence to UTech and his participation in the planting of the planting of the first legal ganja tree on the UTech campus.
