Just over a year after being named as the second affiliate of the Grammy Museum, The Woody Guthrie Centre in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has opened a Bob Marley exhibition.

The display will comprise nearly 30 photos showing the late legend in studio, on stage and during his leisure time. All the photos and interactive features are from the Grammy Museum’s artifact-based Marley exhibit in Los Angeles.

Online sources reveal that the executive director of the Woody Guthrie Centre saw Marley as the perfect choice for the exhibition, as the deceased singer had a lot in common with Woody Guthrie. According to these stories, both musicians promoted social activism, peace, unity and equality.

On May 2, 2014, shortly after celebrating its first anniversary, the Woody Guthrie Centre was declared an official Grammy Museum affiliate.

The Woody Guthrie Centre was the second institution to be named a Grammy Museum affiliate after the Bob Marley Museum was made an official affiliate in February 2014.

The exhibition comes just months after the late singer’s 70th birthday celebrations, and will be on display until September 13.
