CARIBBEAN RIDDIMS RADIO SHOW LAUNCHES NEW FORMAT ON SOUTH FLORIDA’S WZAB 880 AM!

Three exciting hosts, at 3:00 pm every Saturday, starting Saturday July 4, is what listeners in South Florida can anticipate as the new Caribbean Riddims radio show format will be unveiled on WZAB 880 AM.  Hosted by Eddy Edwards, Cleve Osborne and Jody-Ann Gray, the New format brings three experienced names in radio broadcasting together and promises innovative, humorous and interesting features targeting the rapidly growing and politically influential Caribbean community in the tri-county areas of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.

 “We are excited about this new creative approach to a program with such longevity”, stated Eddy Edwards, who created the program back in 1984 and hosted it until he departed to WDNA FM last year to host a short lived Jazz program. “Our objective is to spark a renewed interest in Caribbean radio with a fresh and new approach and to utilize new technology to entertain and educate our listeners.” Edwards, is no stranger to Caribbean Radio in South Florida, he has over 31 years experience in broadcasting and is regarded as a creative marketing and events expert. His return to WZAB will be sure to boost the station’s ratings.

 Cleve Osborne, a native of Trinidad and Tobago is also a veteran in Radio Broadcasting, with 26 years of experience in the field. Cleve, a retired teacher, who taught Television Journalism Production, will add that “Trini Flavor” to the voices set to present the new format.

 The lone female among the group is the effervescent Jody-Ann Gray, a radio and television broadcaster from Jamaica known for her highly energetic and witty personality. With 10 years’ experience, Jody-Ann is expected to add a young perspective among the veterans.

 The Caribbean Riddims show has been on-air since 1984 and has become a Saturday “must listen” for generations of Caribbean Migrants in South Florida as part of Caribbean Saturdays with Don Daly and Mike Andrews. The New Caribbean Riddims will see various features that will attract new listeners and retain current fans. The show will maintain a few of the popular features such the Peoples Politics with Marlon Hill, Pandemonium and the Retro Revolution.

 WZAB 880 AM delivers avaried combination of Caribbean programs on Saturdays, reaching thousands of loyal listeners. The station plays a vital role, culturally, economically and politically, to Caribbean-American Residents in South Florida. WZAB’s strong signal covers Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties, and also reaches into The Bahamas. The station also streams its programs online at www.880thebiz.com.
