CARIBBEAN AIRLINES FLIGHTS DISRUPTED DUE TO CLOSURE OF JAMAICAN AIR SPACE!

Caribbean Airlines is advising customers that several of its flights have been disrupted due to the disruption to Jamaica’s Air space.

Since Tuesday, air traffic controllers have restricted their operations, forcing management personnel to take on the functions that the controllers have not been performing.

Director General of the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority, Nari William-Singh confirmed that while the controllers have not taken industrial action, they have limited their services.

Chief among the complaints of the controllers is the argument that they have been subjected to work with out-dated equipment.

The following Caribbean Airlines flights have been disrupted:

BW 078, Saturday October 10 – departing Lester B. Pearson International, Toronto, Canada to Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica

BW 016, Saturday October 10 – departing John F Kennedy International, New York to Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica

BW 0031, Saturday October 10 – departing Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica to Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida

BW 0030, Saturday October 10 – departing Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida to Montego Bay, Jamaica

BW 015, Saturday October 10 – departing John F Kennedy International, New York to Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica

BW 014, Saturday October 10 – departing Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica to John F Kennedy International, New York

Caribbean Airlines said it has activated its call out plan to contact customers travelling on these services. However, customers are advised to keep checking flight information on the website www.caribbean-airlines.com or to contact the Caribbean Airlines call centers: USA & Canada: 1.800.920.4225 Jamaica (International): 1.800.523.5585 Jamaica (Local calls): 1.888.359.2475.
