STEVE TULLOCH PLEADS FOR THE CHILDREN WITH NEW SINGLE!

 Steve Tulloch—

MULTIPLE reports of child abuse in Jamaica two years ago prompted singer Steve Tulloch to write a song addressing one of the country’s worrying trends.

“I was talking to my manager at the time and he said ‘yuh shoulda do a song on this’,” Tulloch recalled.

He took his advice and recorded Leave The Children Alone which is co-produced by the former manager, Neville Lee, and Junior Weeks.

\It was released in October by B A V A Productions, an independent company out of Brampton in Ontario, Canada. Leave The Children Alone is also the title of his six-song EP.

“It’s really looking at what’s going on with the children, an’ as a father I’m really concerned,” said Tulloch.

Child abuse continues to be a problem in Jamaica. The government-funded Child Development Agency and the police’s Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse receive numerous reports of crimes against children.

Tulloch, a father of six children, believes there has been gradual improvement since 2013.

“The trend is cutting down, but not enough,” he said.

Tulloch has been recording for over three decades. His first song, Ghetto Life, was produced by George Needham.

In recent years, he has worked with ‘indie’ companies in Europe and the United States West Coast. One of those projects was the 2011 album, Professor Madness, by Harrison Stafford of the California-based Groundation band, on which Tulloch shares vocals on the songs, Mind of Man and East Jerusalem.
