Fast-rising Dancehall star Vanessa Bling aka ‘Gaza Slim’ and Dancehall heavyweight I-Octane recently inked lucrative deals with Beauty Queen and Golden Eagle respectively, officially making them brand ambassadors for the shoe and apparel companies.

The female brand is named B&Q, while the male line has been dubbed Golden Eagle.

The brands, which are currently distributed across Jamaica from stores in Montego Bay, have been operating in the island for the last seven years, but the outlets have recently ramped up distribution and marketing efforts to coincide with the signing of the new ambassadors.

Post-signing, the brand ambassadors headlined a launch party in Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay, last Saturday, which gave patrons the opportunity to win items, such as shoes and handbags from the respective brands. Vanessa Bling also took the opportunity to debut her B&Q track endorsing the brand.

“The signing of the two ambassadors is just a precursor to the exciting activities we have lined up for the brands with respect to growth and popularity. The song by Vanessa Bling has been getting rave reviews and increased internet views. I-Octane will be dropping a single soon, and both will feature prominently in our advertising campaign,” said an excited Peter Plummer, marketing manager, Beauty Queen and Golden Eagle.

During the performances, lucky patrons received over 400 pairs of shoes, slippers and handbags.

In an exclusive interview with Jamaica Observer West, I- Octane expressed his “love” for the Golden Eagle brand, adding that he had “no reservations endorsing the products as I personally inspected them to ensure that the quality is at the level that represents my image.”

He added that he is pleased that the companies chose local acts to represent their brands, arguing, “This shows that they are investing in our country and our culture.”
