After being out of the spotlight for some time, reggae artist Nesbeth is now enjoying the fruits of his labor as he has found success with his latest singles.

Since returning from a European stint to promote his current EP, Victory, the Rastafarian singer has been busy campaigning with his latest single, My Dream.

Recently, the song soared to the No. 2 spot on the British Beat FM Top 10 Reggae/

Dancehall Chart and was officially premiered on New York’s Hot 97 last weekend by Jabba and Bobby Konders.

The single was also touted as one of the top five songs to watch for the festive season by popular street selector Boom Boom during a recent interview with TVJ’s Entertainment Report.

Nesbeth says he is very pleased with the revelation, citing that his aggressive campaign is slowly coming to fruition, but what is even more important is the appreciation that people are still showing for good music in the space.

“It’s really gratifying to see that people still appreciate good, clean, uplifting music, and it’s a great feeling to see them throwing their support behind the song,” he said.

DOING WELL OVERSEAS

Slowly becoming a staple on the playlist of several top-tier disc jocks, My Dream has also been doing very well across Europe and other areas. The single also occupies the No. 19 spot on Natty B’s Official UK Reggae Chart.

Nesbeth further explained that following the official premiere of the song via BBC 1Xtra, with Seani B, the Entertainment Soul-produced single has seen a significant spike, subsequently landing him further endorsement from reggae stalwart David Rodigan and several others.

When quizzed about the inspiration and feedback on My Dream, the singer said, “The song is about the manifestation of one’s thoughts, dreams, goals, and aspirations. In other words, the vibration that you send out is what you receive. So in the song I speak of things that are happening and things to be. While it’s important to have a dream, it’s more important to live the dream.”

Meanwhile, following a four-year hiatus, the singer recently received clearance from the US Embassy and was granted a three-year work permit.

Though not his first time on US soil, Nesbeth says he is very pleased with the admission, noting that the US is a very important market for entertainers across the globe to ply their trade and build their brand.
