DANCEHALL SINGER J CAPRI, TO BE BURIED MONDAY, DECEMBER 14!

 Artist J Capri will be buried on December 14.—

In addition, a wake is planned for Little Copa in Bull Bay, St Andrew, this Saturday.

“We want both the wake and thanksgiving service to be a joyful occasion. My daughter was a happy soul and we want to always remember her for that,” Kenneth Phillips, father of the late artiste, told the Jamaica Observer.

Monday’s service will feature live performances from singers Chris Martin, Alaine, and Cherine Anderson.

J Capri, whose given name is Jordan Phillips, reportedly lost control of her motor vehicle which hit a wall before overturning on Barbican Road in St Andrew, on November 23.The 23-year-old suffered severe head trauma and was placed in an induced coma at the University Hospital of the West Indies. She succumbed to her injuries on December 4.

Phillips said he is yet to receive an autopsy report.

“We are yet to receive the autopsy report. We don’t know why though, as an autopsy was done on her body the morning that she died. We were told we would get the results shortly after but that is yet to come to pass. I even went to the Matilda’s Police Station today (yesterday) but they have not received it either I am not sure what is going on,” he said.

J Capri’s last major performance in Jamaica was on Dancehall Night at Reggae Sumfest in July. She is best known for the songs Reverse It and Wine and Kotch.

Interment will be in the Dovecot Memorial Gardens in St Catherine.
