FOR 2016, “TAD’S RECORDS WILL STAND ITS GUARD” SAYS ITS FOUNDER TAD DAWKINS!

Looking back on 2015, the continued decline in music sale across the globe, has hurt all those involved with music, including Tad’s Records. Its founder and CEO, Tad Dawkins, said the slide impacted the company’s operations.
“We had to take a look at the industry, as it relates to physical and digital distribution, and strategise and revamp our operations,” said Dawkins. “There have been drastic declines in sales in both formats, and it is therefore imperative that we restructure to remain viable within the industry.”

Dawkins told the Jamaica Observer that Tad’s Records is looking to capitalize on the music business’ most resurgent market.

“We have seen a re-emergence of the vinyl market over the past year, for which we are now streamlining our company’s operations to take advantage of this new opportunity.”

There were positives for the company which has offices in South Florida, Kingston and Montego Bay. It signed deals with companies in Asia and Europe to distribute Tad’s music in those continents.

Dawkins did not disclose the names of those partners, but said the agreement “should further enhance the position of our company worldwide in the next five-10 years”.

There are three major projects for Tad’s Records in early 2016: a gospel album from George Nooks; a Sly & Robbie Presents Chezidek album, and the debut album from singer Zamunda.
