POWERFUL, the second single from Major Lazer’s album Peace is The Mission, has been certified gold and platinum in New Zealand and Australia, respectively.
The song is by British soul singer Ellie Goulding and features Tarrus Riley.
The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) issues platinum certification for singles selling 70,000 copies. The song peaked at number seven on the Australian pop chart and went number one on its dance chart.
Recorded Music NZ (formerly Recording Industry Association of New Zealand certifies singles selling over 7,500 copies gold. Powerful reached number 20 in New Zealand.

Riley, who performed the song during the Major Lazer and Friends concert at Mas Camp last Friday, said Powerful “is a big deal for me.This past year has been a good one for me musically,” he said.
Powerful stalled at number 83 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in the United States. It also made the Top 10 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs, Dance/Electronic Streaming and Dance/Electronic Digital Singles charts.
