Dancehall artist Admiral Bailey is eyeing a return to the musical spotlight.

The deejay, who ruled the roost from the mid-1980s to the early 1990’s, plans to regain his position as a top act in dancehall music by releasing material that will appeal to the new generation of dancehall fans.

“I want everyone to know that Admiral Bailey is back with a fresh new sound. I plan to become a dominant force in dancehall music again. I am currently working with a talented team of producers to create the type of music that will attract the new dancehall fans,” he said.

Admiral Bailey began his career as a deejay on Daddy U-Roy’s Sturgav sound system in the early 1980s. He came to prominence during the latter half of the decade via the hit single, One Scotch, that was done in tandem with Chaka Demus for legendary music producer Lloyd ‘King Jammys’ James.

After scoring his first hit, the affable entertainer, whose real name is Glendon Bailey, went on to compile an impressive catalogue that includes hits such as Think Mi Did Done, Jump Up, Old Time Something, Big Belly Man, Science Again, and Me a Di Danger. He was also awarded the Deejay of the Year award on multiple occasions during his career.

Admiral Bailey recently released a brand new single, Gi Mi Everything Yuh Got. The song, which was produced by Triston Palmer Jr for his TP Records imprint and released in November, is currently enjoying a huge buzz in the streets.

“This song is getting a lot of love in the dancehall, and it’s also getting a tremendous amount of airplay,” said Admiral Bailey.

Admiral Bailey is currently working on an album that is slated to be released early next year. The album will feature songs produced by popular producers, including Arthur Wale, Truckback Records, Young Lock and Lock City.

“The album is currently in the works. So far, we have recorded some very good songs. It’s going to be a fantastic project.”
