Cuban-American rapper Pitbull recently released a Spanish cover of the Chaka Demus & Pliers hit song Murder She Wrote. Titled El Taxi, it is from Dale, his ninth album.
Dale is nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album category. It was released in July last year by RCA Records/Sony Music Latin and went to number one on Billboard’s Top Latin Album Chart. El Taxi also features Latin artistes Sensato and Osmani Garcia.
Sly & Robbie
Produced by the Taxi Gang, Murder She Wrote was released in 1992 and topped Jamaican charts the following year. In 1994, it reached number 27 on the UK Pop Singles Chart.
Chaka Demus & Pliers
In 2013 Murder She Wrote was sampled by rapper French Montano for his hit single,Freaks, with Nicki Minaj.Post to Be, a 2014 Top 20 Billboard hit for singer Omarion, Jhene Aiko and Chris Brown, also sampled Murder She Wrote.
