 Bonafide Band—

THE Bonafide Band have called Las Vegas home for 15 years but they have not forgotten the finer things in Jamaica, which include the ladies. Their latest song, Jamaican Girl, pays homage to the resilience of their country women.

“This is a positive, conscious message that we are sending to all the brothers out there to treat your woman with the respect and love that she truly deserves, and at the same time to empower women of all ages,” said lead singer and drummer Donovan ‘Junior Rootz’ Stephens.

Jamaican Girl, which is on the group’s B-RAZ Records label, will be released digitally this week.

Keyboard player Robert Stephens, bassist Wayne Stevens and guitarist Michael Stephens are the other members of Bonafide which formed in Montego Bay during the 1990’s.

After making their name on Jamaican’s north coast circuit, the quartet established itself as a touring unit in areas like the United States West Coast, Australia and the Pacific Rim.

In 2012, they released the album, Sold Out, which heard them working with Damian ‘Junior Gong’ Marley and Etana.
