JAH CURE’S “THE CURE” RETURNS TO THE TOP OF BILLBOARD REGGAE CHART!

JAH Cure’s album The Cure returns to the number one spot on Billboard’s Reggae album chart. The VP Records set, which was released last July, sold an additional 434 copies over the past week, bringing its total to 17,442 copies.

The Cure sold 82 copies the previous week, and its surge reflects a more than 300 per cent increase.

The Cure was recently nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Reggae album category. Aside from Morgan Heritage’s Strictly Roots album which won the Grammy, none of the other nominated albums have reflected increased sales following the Grammy telecast. The others were Branches of The Same Tree by Rocky Dawuni (Cumbancha Records); Acousticalevy by Barrington Levy (Doctor Dread Presents); and Zion Awake by Luciano (VP Records).

Strictly Roots which holds the number nine position with 89 copies sold over the past week, has to date moved 6,178 copies.Since it topped the charts last July, The Cure has been inside the Billboard Reggae album’s top 10 each of its 35-week chart life.

Last week’s chart topper, Set in Stone by Stick Figure, falls to number two with 369 copies, up from 353 copies sold the previous week. To date, the album has moved 12, 308.

Sizzla’s 876, which debuted at number three last week, falls to number eight with 90 copies to bring its two-week tally to 313.

AssassinTheoryOfReggaetivity

Theory of Reggaetivity by Assassin (aka Agent Sasco) falls to number seven with 100 copies sold to bring his current haul to 447 copies.
